The Breast Cancer Awareness month is October, and during that time a lot of people will put on a pink ribbon to raise awareness regarding this destructive disease. Pink is the colour that has become totally related with the movement of breast cancer, just the colour brings the disease to a lot of people’s mind.

Females are not the only ones who might be aware of breast cancer…the cause should be encouraged by males too. 1,600 adult males will be diagnosed with breast cancer this current year according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Wearing the pink ribbon should be considered even by most of the male population in order to back up a great cause.

In order to survive the disease, early signal detention is vital. Lumps, discolouration of the breast and deepening of the tissues are basic signs of breast cancer. You should talk to your physician to look for treatment even though these signs are not assured that you have cancer. Dimpling of the skin, alteration in breast size or anatomy, and constant pain in the spot are other signs of breast cancer.

During the Breast Cancer Awareness Month people do many activities, and the most basic and popular one is the walk-a-thon. It is an extraordinary way to raise money for a cure and it occurs all over the country. There are many ways to participate even if you are not a walker, such us wearing any of the breast cancer awareness products, patronising or supporting someone or a team, or just donating money.

Companies, who are supporting the cause make imprinted pink clothes like a t-shirt with their logo on it. A bottle of water is passed to walkers during this event to help extinguish their thirst on the way. And to know how many steps they’ve taken for this cause, people use an impressed pink pedometer, also tell them how many calories they have burned during this fun event!

Everyday we see charities and movements build up everywhere in the world. The pink colour breast cancer wristband is the best representative for the cause and can be purchased for just a few dollars. Teenagers and people for all age group have been wearing this wristband to support the cause, as well as other coloured wristbands which support different charities. An example is the Yellow Wristband, which is sold to support Cancer Research by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
